As a "Newbie" in Jerez, I met Maureen at Scottish Dance class. As is the usual in a small town, we would meet by chance sitting at a cafe and chitchat. Always smiling, colourful and kind. Graham and Maureen helped us move apartments .. just like that!
Maureen, you are a wonderful human being and we will miss seeing you around the winding streets of Jerez.
Light up the skies .. Maureen!

Dear Maureen,
Although I´m very very sorry that you had to leave this way,
I know that you doesn´t suffer any longer , and now you can relieve all
the pain..that you didn´t deserve..
But I don´t want to say sad words , you were and alway be a beautiful
person, full of joy.
We , all the family, spent with you many good and happy times, and you were so
warm and lovely with all of us... those good feelings and happy memories we will never forget, will always remain in our hearts
Maureen, I will always remember you with that big and bright smile ,
as you told me in your last message,
< lots of love and besitos >

A quick translation of Manolo del Valle's message (Manolo is the husband of Patri, Nuria's sister):
Unfortunately, my knowledge of English was, is and will be imperfect and botched. Despite this, Maureen never had any difficulty when it came to understanding what I was trying to say when I was talking to her, and the truth is most of the time I didn’t make it easy for her. This demonstrates the interest she showed in everything around her including learning Jerezano. She certainly seemed to have kept that joy and that capacity to be surprised which we all had as children and which, unfortunately, we seem to lose with age. I will always remember her with much affection and joy, which is what she gave out.
